Not far from the Gampenpass mountain pass, the village of Senale/Unsere liebe Frau im Walde at 1,342 m is home to an ancient sanctuary. As far back 1184, there was a hospice in the monastery and monks took in passing wayfarers and pilgrims in need of shelter. There is also an antique Rococo-style casket next to the delicate carvings on the Baroque altars in the Gothic church. Even today, Senale remains a sanctuary for pilgrims.
