Hiking on the sunny high plateau Tschögglberg

The Tschögglberg holiday region also offers ideal conditions for hiking enthusiasts in winter. In winter, you can walk on silent soles through the enchanting winter landscape to the most beautiful vantage points. Winter hikers and snowshoe trekkers will find easy hikes on the Salten, panoramic trails and snowshoe tours at medium altitudes, all the way to ski tours in the Merano 2000 ski area. A stop in a rustic alpine hut or relaxing on the sun terrace in one of the many mountain inns is not to be missed.
Lots to experience for families on the Tschögglberg high plateau
Geocaching on the Tschögglberg Plateau

On the picturesque Tschögglberg high plateau, stretching across the scattered mountain communities of South Tyrol, there are numerous gentle hiking trails that are perfect for the whole family. Geocaching offers a particularly exciting way to explore the forests and meadows. This combination of nature experience, cultural discovery, and treasure hunt can even captivate those who aren't necessarily avid hikers, adding an extra thrill to the mountain tour. The treasure, known as a geocache, could be hidden under any rock or behind any spruce tree!
Geocaching the old way
Let's take a step back in time and grab a "treasure map" to explore and discover eight cultural sites on the Tschögglberg. The locations are marked and numbered on the overview map. Each location has a corresponding question with various answer options. On-site, you can find the correct answer and transfer it to the map.

Home of the Haflinger Horses

The stocky, chestnut-coloured Haflinger with the blond mane is a typical South Tyrolean horse breed. On the Tschögglberg, the robust mountain horse is not just one horse breed among many, but deeply connected to the culture and tradition of the local people. Here, at the place of origin, you can experience the horses up close during their summer holiday on the alpine meadows of the high plateau and find your very own horse adventure along the Haflinger adventure trail. The riding establishments in Hafling, Vöran, Mölten and Jenesien invite you to explore the Tschögglberg on horseback or on a carriage ride.
