The Unterstell cable car is a year-round destination that takes visitors up to an altitude of 1,300 metres and is only closed for a short time in spring for maintenance work. (Please note: closed from the end of November 2023 to the end of March 2024 due to a 20-year overhaul)

Just a thirty-minute drive from Naturno, the Alpin Arena Senales awaits, nestled at the end of the Schnalstal Valley where majestetic, 3.000m peaks rise and Ötzi the Iceman was discovered. This enchanting winter wonderland offers adventures for the entire family. At an Altitude of 3.212 the Schnalstal Valley Glacier is a skier´s paradise, while cross-country skiers and hikers will find ideal trail troughout the Alpin Arean Senales. 

SKIING IN THE ALPIN AREAN SENALES: FROM THE VALLEY TO THE GLACIER
The ski season in Maso Corto lasts from September to May. The ski slopes of all difficulty levels wind from the glacier, easily accessible by the Glacier Cable Car, at 3.212 meters down to the valley at Maso Corto at 2.011 meters. Beginners and children can make their first attempts on the gentle slopes, while professionals and adrenaline junkies can tackle the more challenging runs.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
The Schnalstal Valley ski area features two cross-country ski trails. The easier "Lazaun Trail", with a length of 2 kilometers, is open from mid-Dicember to April. Beginners and leisure skiers will find it perfect. The high-altitude "Hochjoch Trail", the highest cross-country ski trail in South Tyrol, ranges from 5 to 10 kilometers and is suitable for experienced cross-country skiers.
