Bike tour Saltaus- Prenn - Meran- Saltaus
Starting point: Saltaus
End point: Saltaus
Start in Saltaus and ride down to the cycle path along the Passer River. Turn left and follow the cycle path for about half a kilometre into the valley before turning right towards Schweinsteg. The road now climbs quite steeply with numerous hairpin bends: you pass through Schweinsteg and continue uphill to Tall and Prenn, reaching the middle station of the Hirzer cable car.
From here, follow the road briefly downhill to a bridge. Shortly after the bridge, turn right towards Verdins. The route takes you downhill through several hairpin bends, passing Verdins and continuing to Schenna.
Via Schennastraße, Vergilstraße and finally St.-Georgen-Straße, you descend to the cycle path along the Passer River. Follow it along the river towards the Passeier Valley and enjoy a relaxed ride back to Saltaus.
Wear a cycle helmet and weather-appropriate clothing and take enough water and food with you. Before setting off, check your bike and make sure that the brakes, tyres and lights are working properly.
• Coming from Meran towards the Passeiertal Valley, take the Jaufenstraße SS44 to Saltaus
• Coming from the Jaufenpass towards Meran, take the Jaufenstraße SS44 to Saltaus
• Coming from the Timmelsjoch towards Moos, continue on the Timmelsjochstraße towards St. Leonhard on the same road, then continue towards Meran on the Jaufenstraße SS44 to Saltaus
