Shield Fram Trail in Saltaus

Along the traditional Schildhöfe from Saltaus to Quellenhof

Directions

You start at the bus stop in Saltaus and follow the Riederbergstraße (no. 1) to the Schildhof Haupold. From there, the trail signage “Schildhöfeweg” leads you uphill across meadows and through a forest until you reach another road. After a short stretch, you turn onto a farm track that takes you to the Schildhof Granstein in Quellenhof.

Along the way, you’ll discover interesting insights about the chestnut groves, the forest, and the history surrounding Cardinal Haller and the Passeier court.

Afterwards, you walk through the village down to the path along the river Passer (Passerweg), which leads you back comfortably to Saltaus.

The trail is not suitable for strollers and wheelchairs.
