Life and farewell, a journey through death in images

Three films, partly in Italian, partly in German, three different aspects of death. The first concerns the waiting of those who live the last years of their lives in a rest home, the second the handling of grief at the death of a loved one as a spectacle for distant relatives, and the last the eternal rest at the cemetery.
With a talk by Giorgio Vallazza, psychiatrist.
Programme:
Sala d'attesa - Rolf Mandolesi
A portrait of humanity just waiting to fade away. For despite the flickering smile of an elderly guest, when the activities are over, when we are freed from the things of the world, all that remains is a past that we remember and a present that is consumed moment by moment as we wait for our last breath.
Transition - Günther Haller
A film initiated by the relatives to convey to the family in China the splendour of farewell and to show the prosperity and success they have achieved abroad. At the same time, the film is intended to convey their deep sorrow over the loss. This documentary opens a window to a distant world and culture and allows us to look at dealing with death from a different perspective.’
R.I.P riposi in pace - rest in peace - Günther Haller
The eternal rest is interrupted, almost disturbed, by the elements, although it offers insights into the earthly lives of those at rest.
