Küchelberg Chair Lift

The Merano–Dorf Tirol Panorama Lift, also known as the Küchelberg Chairlift, is a single-seater chairlift that connects the center of Merano with Segenbühel on the Küchelberg mountain in Dorf Tirol (514 m above sea level). It was built in the late 1940s, around the same time as the nearby Hotel Panorama. The lift is an important part of the town's tourist infrastructure, providing visitors with direct and convenient access to the hiking trails and nature reserves above the town. It also offers picturesque panoramic views of Merano and the surrounding mountains.

Prices are as follows:
• Single ticket €6.00
• Round trip €7.50
• 10-ride pass €24.00
• Children: Single ticket €4.00; Round trip €5.00
• Combined ticket for the chairlift and Hochmuth cable car €18.00

At Merano train station take either the bus no. 1 or bus no. 4 and get off at the Piazza Teatro.
From there, you can reach the chairlift in 5 minutes via Corso Libertà, then continue along via Cassa di Risparmio and via Galilei.

There are reserved parking spaces for people with disabilities in via Galilei. Please note that this is a traffic-calmed zone. Entry to this zone is only permitted if you have deposited your disabled parking permit and your car's licence plate number with the local council, Municipio di Merano, in advance.

Using the "Car Park Finder" app, you can view available spaces in real time.

Bicycle parking spaces are located in via Galilei in front of the town hall. Take care not to park bicycles and e-rollers carelessly. They can pose a danger to blind and visually impaired people as they create obstacles to safely walking along paths and finding entrances. People in wheelchairs and parents with pushchairs can also be hindered by carelessly parked bicycles. Please use the bicycle parking spaces provided.

During the summer months, it's highly recommended to start your outdoor activities early in the morning. Mornings typically offer pleasant temperatures, allowing you to fully enjoy your excursion without the discomfort of intense heat. The air is crisp and invigorating, enhancing your senses and creating an ideal setting for immersing yourself in nature, thereby ensuring a more enjoyable and safer experience.

To adapt to the high temperatures we consider the following measures:

• Choose light-coloured, loose, and breathable clothing made from natural fibres such as linen to stay cool. Wear a hat or cap to protect your face from the sun and sunglasses to shield your eyes from UV rays.
• Use a sunscreen with a high sun protection factor (at least SPF 30) and reapply it regularly, especially if you are sweating.
