Mountain tour over the Hönigspitze Peak (2.695 m) to Punta Civina

General description
The location of the Hönigspitze Peak directly above the Videgger Assen and its unobstructed views down into the Merano Valley basin, over Verdines and Scena, make this mountain route a well-loved variant to the Punta Civina mountain ascent.
Route description

The starting point for this hike us the Verdins-Tall cable car valley station, from where you take the Talle-Grube chair lift. Then, you begin the first easy ascent to Stafell (path no. 7) to reach the climb to the Hönigspitze Peak, which is only suitable for experienced hikers. From there, take the mountain ridge to Hirzerspitze peak, which is 2781m above sea level.

For the descent, first hike back along the same path to the Hirzerscharte. From there, descend steeply via the partly secured rocky path to Tallner Alm Kaser hut, Resegger Alm hut, Hirzerhütte hut, and continue to Klammeben. Passing to the right of Klammeben, follow trail no. 8A back to the Tall-Grube chairlift.

Once you’ve taken the cable car back to Verdins, you can return to Scena or Merano in comfort by taking the bus.
