Hiking trails in Schnalstal Valley

A variety of hiking trails between 500 m and 3,200 m

Approx. 240 km of marked hiking trails run through the original Schnalstal Valley - from the vineyards at the entrance to the valley right up to the glacier world of the Ötztal Alps.
The Texelgruppe Nature Park rises up at the Eastern side of the valley and has one of the most splendid circular routes in the Alps, the Merano High Mountain Trail.

The high Alpine glacier tours across the Hochjochferner glacier are yet another highlight for mountaineers. The 8 archaeological hiking tours in the Schnalstal Valley provide hikers interested in history with all sorts of interesting facts about the history of the valley. Hikers who prefer a gentler form of hike can choose the circuit route around the Vernagt dam and reservoir or stroll from farm to farm along the valley floor.
