The Desiderio Ensemble performs Schubert

In its current programme, the ensemble focuses on Franz Schubert’s famous Octet in F major, D 803. With its unusual combination of wind and string instruments, the work unfolds a fascinating variety of sounds – ranging from intimate chamber-music moments to an almost orchestral richness of sound. Schubert’s melodic richness, dance-like lightness and emotional depth make the Octet a highlight of the classical chamber music repertoire.
The Desiderio Ensemble combines precise ensemble playing with a joy of music-making, bringing Schubert’s masterpiece to life in an immediate and vivid way.
