Authors in Merano in Italian language - Meeting with Viola Ardone

Born in Naples, she graduated with a degree in Literature in 1996 from the University of Naples Federico II. She worked in educational publishing before going on to teach Italian and Latin at the “De Carlo” secondary school in Giugliano in Campania. She also ran a writing workshop for young people at the juvenile detention centre on the island of Nisida. She has been writing since childhood and made her debut in 2012 with *La ricetta del cuore in subbuglio* (Salani Editore). Her works also include *Cyrano dal naso strano* (2017), illustrated by Luca Dalisi. She also contributes to various newspapers and magazines: *Corriere del Mezzogiorno*, *la Repubblica*, *La Stampa* and *L'Espresso*. Her books have been adapted into films (*Il treno dei bambini*) and theatre productions (*Oliva Denaro*).
