The elegant spaces of the Sala Civica in Merano are once again hosting the South Tyrolean dance theatre festival Alps Move. Three artists have been invited to present their productions. The Latvian performance artist Santija Bieza reflects on the oyster’s ability to transform an impurity into a most precious material, mother-of-pearl – a transformative process that
art, too, is capable of. The Merano-based choreographer Sabine Raffeiner works with three dancers to explore delicate moments of suspension – those moments of pause before letting oneself go. Finally, the Trentino-based dancer Paola Zadra and the video artist Daniel Vacas Peralta blend dance and video to reflect on balance, a fundamental element of movement and an essential condition of existence.
