In Lana and its environs, numerous mountain hut, taverns and inns are to be found along the hiking trails, where hikers can stop for a bite to eat.
South Tyrolean specialties include stuffed ravioli (
Schlutzkrapfen) and savory dumplings (
Knödel) with drinks such as homemade elderberry juice, local wines or fresh spring water from Monte San Vigilio.
There are a number of mountain huts, inns and restaurants on Mount Vigiljoch, such as the characteristic Bärenbad Alm mountain hut, the
Hofer-Hof inn, and the
Naturnser Alm mountain hut. Beside the
Seespitz mountain restaurant on the San Vigilio hiking area, similar amenities can be found at the nearby Merano 2000 skiing and hiking area and the Tschögglberg mountain Plateau.
