The cable car systems in Lana and its environs make it easy to get around without the need for independent transport. A ride on the Vigiljoch Cable Car, second-oldest cable car in Europe, is an adventure of its own. The cable car takes visitors from Lana directly to the Vigiljoch Cable Car mountain station, from which nostalgic old cable car ascends further into the heart of Mount Vigiljoch.
Burgstall also offers an easy way up into the mountains. The Burgstall–Vöran cable car connects the Etschtal Valley with Vöran on the Tschögglberg plateau in just a few minutes. At the top, a spacious hiking area awaits with forests, meadows and numerous trails across the sunny high plateau. The ride on the Burgstall–Vöran cable car is included with the South Tyrol Guest Pass.
Other mountain lifts in the surrounding area provide easy access to popular hiking areas such as Aschbach, Schwemmalm, Hochmuth and Merano 2000, giving you even more options for varied hiking days around Lana and Merano.
