As the largest apple-growing village in South Tyrol, Lana is home to the only museum of fruit cultivation in the area. Located on the historic Larchgut estate, the museum provides insights into this important economic activity in South Tyrol.
The Farming Museum in Voiana/Völlan pays tribute to the farmers who lived and worked on the land in bygone centuries. The Bell Tower Clock Museum in the Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche chruch in Lana recounts the history of local churches as well as how clock making developed in the area.
Along with the electric locomotive at the Postal/Burgstatll railway station, the Vigiljoch Cable Car (built in 1912 and the second oldest in Europe) records the technological achievements in Lana. During the Advent season before Christmas, the Lorenzerhof retirement home in Lana hosts a nativity scene exhibition.
Contemporary Exhibitions
The Kränzelhof – Seven Gardens wine estate in Cermes/Tscherms is an ideal setting for various open-air contemporary art exhibitions. There are also 33 sculptures by contemporary international artists located along the eight km outdoor Skulpturenwanderweg sculpture trail.
