The tradition of horsemanship in South Tyrol is closely tied to the Haflinger horse breed, and this is also true in Lana and Environs. Known for its calm and gentle nature, this placid South Tyrolean horse is ideal for relaxing rides in the surrounding area. In addition to Haflingers, the Lana horse-riding school also has ponies and other thoroughbreds.
Riding lessons for beginners and advanced learners take place in the riding park Lana in the afternoon from Monday to Friday. For kids who want to learn how to ride during the holidays, the riding park organizes special group courses in summer.
The Theistadl Riding Stables in Pracupola/Kuppelwies in the Val d’Ultimo/Ultental Valley and in the village of Avelengo/Hafling, on the Paur and Sulfner Riding Stables, there are Haflinger horses and other breeds which can be taken out for walks or training.
