Town gate "Venosta Gate"

Three of the original four town gates still exist. The gates took the name oft the valleys or the towns fhey faced: Val Venosta, Bolzano, Val Passiria and Val d'Ultimo. The Ultimo Gate was situated in what is today piazza Teatro. On both sides of the Passiria Gate it is still possible to see what was once the town wall, built towards the end of the 13th century.

Public transport
We suggest using public transportation. From the train station, the most convenient option is to board one of the city lines (1, 4, or 5) to reach the "Meran, Theaterplatz" stop, followed by a brief 10-minute walk to the Venosta Gate.
Description to arrive at destination
You can easily reach the Venosta Gate by bike from the via delle Corse, where you will also find bicycle parking spaces.
Take care not to park bicycles and e-rollers carelessly. They can pose a danger to blind and visually impaired people as they create obstacles to safely walking along paths and finding entrances. People in wheelchairs and parents with pushchairs can also be hindered by carelessly parked bicycles. Please use the bicycle parking spaces provided.
Parking
There is a public parking garage "Plaza" and also reserved parking spaces for people with disabilities on the "Rennweg" directly at the entrance to the "Laubengasse". Using the "Car Park Finder" app, you can view available spaces in real time.
Author's tip
We suggest opting for comfortable footwear and bringing along a reusable water bottle, easily refillable at the fountains conveniently placed along the route. Water flows in the drinking fountains from spring to autumn. Depending on the weather and temperatures, the fountains are in operation from the beginning/middle of April to the middle/end of October.
Opening hours: all-season
