In the Upper Venosta Valley holiday region and especially in the Watles ski area, snowshoe hikers will find several well-signposted trails and paths with panoramic views onto some of the 3,000 m high peaks of South Tyrol. One of the most popular is the Watles Top winter trail, reserved mainly for snowshoe hikers and ski tourers, leading from the chairlift valley station to the Watles Kreuz peak. The choice of tours and excursions ranges from an easy tour through the forest to more challenging tours for those seeking a really unique experience in the high mountains, from romantic trips through the glistening snowy landscape to solitary challenging high Alpine tours!
The guided tours over the Watles adventure mountain are perfect for anyone who wants to combine a genuine experience of nature with a deeper appreciation of the area. Along the way, there are plenty of opportunities to make a break in one of the Alpine huts. In addition, every Friday evening, a snowshoe night excursion is organized in the Watles ski area, beginning at 7 pm. The Plantapatsch mountain hut remains open for this occasion during the entire evening until late in the night, offering traditional South Tyrolean cuisine, hot drinks and delicious snacks in a unique atmosphere.
Sports Ziernheld at the Watles valley station offers snowshoe rental.
