The Val d’Ultimo/Ultental Valley, with its lakes and mountain rivers,
offers ideal conditions for angling and fly fishing. The cold and oxygen-rich waters are mainly home to trout and char.
Ideal spots for fishing are the
Falschauer river, the
Zoggler Stausee reservoir in the village of Santa Valburga/St. Walburg, and the idyllic Gruensee lake. Fishing in the Ultental Valley requires an Italian state-issued type D fishing license, which can be purchased at the local
Tourist Office in Santa Valburga, along with the so-called
Fischwasser day card available in local stores.
