Töll/Tel, hydroelectric power station

Tel hydroelectric power station – Via Claudia Augusta – Bad Egart – Rabland – Partschins (church square & Peter Mitterhofer Museum) – Vertigen – Tel hydroelectric power station

The starting point and destination of this circular walk is the hydroelectric power plant at the Tel barrage. From here, the route initially follows the cycle path along the Via Claudia Augusta to the Tel Bridge. After crossing the bridge, the path continues to the left along Bahnhofstraße to the historic K.u.K. Museum Bad Egart.

At the museum, the route follows the picturesque Badlweg, leading to Rabland and the Saringer Bridge. From here, the path continues left along Cutraunstraße to Vinschgauerstraße (the main road). After a short stretch on the pavement towards Merano, the road is crossed at the pedestrian crossing and the route follows trail marking 7A through woodland and meadows towards the valley station of the Texelbahn cable car.

The walk then continues along Peter-Mitterhofer-Straße, passing the birthplace of Peter Mitterhofer, the inventor of the typewriter. The route then reaches the centre of Partschins and the church square with the Parish Church of St Peter and Paul, the Peter Mitterhofer Typewriter Museum and the old cemetery, where the grave and gravestone of Peter Mitterhofer can also be visited.

Continuing along Hubenstraße, the path passes a Roman-era gravestone. The route then follows Römerstraße and Zehentstraße in the direction of Tel to the signposted junction Peter Mitterhofer Trail. From here, a meadow path leads left to Vertigen. Following the signs, the route finally returns to the Tel barrage, completing the loop. The entire walk follows well-maintained paths and is also suitable for buggies.
