The village of Dorf Tirol is an ideal starting point for a
hiking holiday in South Tyrol with trails ranging from relaxing walks in the valley to more challenging hikes at higher altitudes. Across the extensive
trail network of over 70 km, signposts guide hikers along the paths winding past orchards and vineyards through meadows and forests, before reaching the Alpine landscape higher up.
Popular routes, such as the Hans Frieden-Weg, the Tyrolean High Mountain Trail (Tiroler Höhenweg) or the
Vellauer Felsenweg trails, overlook magnificent scenic panoramas. The 100-km
Merano High Mountain Trail (Meraner Höhenweg) offers the opportunity to discover the entire
Texelgruppe Nature Park.
The Apfelweg trail and the Weinweg route as well as the Panoramaweg and Herrschaftsweg trails all lead through the unique mountain landscape of Dorf Tirol. Botanical paths such as the Tappeinerweg trail and the Hans-Falkner-Weg trail are surrounded by Mediterranean flora, such as cypresses and palm trees.
