Year-round walking and hiking is possible in the Val d’Adige/Etschtal Valley, thanks to the local microclimate and almost constant sunshine. While in summer the forest paths provide sufficient cover from the sun, the hillside paths on the slopes are still warm enough for walks in autumn.
In winter,
sunny hiking paths such as the Falknerpromenade trail, the Tappeinerweg walk, and the Herrschaftsweg trail remain without snow, in contrast to the bustling ski slopes. There are also a number of
snow hiking and snowshoeing routes above Tirolo.
