A snow-shoe hike in the mountains leads visitors through the snow-filled landscape of the South Tyrolean winter. There are a large network of suitable routes throughout Merano and Environs. Easy exploring tours lead through small valleys, across a variety of circular hiking trails, and above the tree line up to scenic mountain plateaus.
Starting points for easy family walks are the Merano 2000 ski area and car-free Vigiljoch mountain near Lana. More demanding summit ascents can be found in the valleys of Val d’Ultimo/Ultental, Val Passiria/Passeiertal and Val Senales/Schnalstal.
Experienced mountain guides are available to accompany winter sports enthusiasts on snowshoe hikes throughout South Tyrol/Südtirol, offering advice and assistance.
