Winter’s last dance: carnival customs in South Tyrol

The winter is bid farewell with a lot of noise and fanfare in accordance with traditional customs and with an astonishing wealth of facets. There is hooting, rattling, croaking and ringing for all it's worth – as long as it’s loud and colourful.

The Knottnkino

On the 1465 m high “Rotsteinkogel” in Vöran, 30 folding chairs made of stainless steel and chestnut wood offer an open-air cinema experience of a special kind. The millennium project "Knottnkino", created by Franz Messner in 2001, has been extended 2019 in a three-part sequel.
