Merano High Mountain Trail in Passeiertal Valley

Wonderful walks in the Texelgruppe Nature Park

The Merano High Mountain Trail, stretching approximately 100 kilometers, is one of the most beautiful circular hiking routes in the Alps. It takes you on a complete loop around the Texel Group Nature Park, offering an unforgettable journey between the Passeiertal Valley in the east and the Schnalstal Valley in the west over up to six daily stages.
Along the way, you'll experience an impressive variety of landscapes, from flower-filled alpine meadows and shady forests to rushing mountain streams and striking rock formations. Rustic mountain huts and traditional alpine inns provide the perfect opportunity to take a break and enjoy regional specialties.
Stages four and five of the Merano High Mountain Trail lead through the Passeiertal Valley. Following wild mountain streams around Pfelders and Moos and passing traditional mountain hamlets connected by historic church and farm paths, the trail continues through Ulfas and Matatz across a diverse cultural landscape. As a reward, you'll be treated to spectacular panoramic views over the Passeiertal Valley and the Merano region.
