Avalanche danger: Beware of slab avalanches on the steep slope on the Sailertal Valley side!
From the car park at Wanser Hof farm (1,439 m), follow the wide forest track to Wanser Alm Alp (1,640 m). From there, continue to the head of the valley. Keep to the left at first, then follow a sweeping curve to the right towards Wanser Joch (2,245 m), with the final section becoming increasingly steep. From there, continue climbing on the Sarntal side until you reach the ridge and summit of "Alpenspitze".
The descent follows the same route.
In very good conditions, you can descend via Sailer Valley back to the starting point. From the summit, head slightly to the right until you reach a steeper slope. Descend this steep slope, which soon opens out into beautiful, wide slopes and leads down to the valley floor. From there, a slightly flatter section takes you back to the car park at Wanser Hof.
As with any ski tour, you should always have all your ski touring equipment with you.
