Hike to the Schwåmmplouder (waterfall in Dorf Tirol)

General description

Easy hike through the mixed forest above Dorf Tirol/Tirolo to the Schwåmmplouder. The Schwåmmplouder is a stream pool or basin before a little waterfall. Ideal for a leisurely hike on hot summer's days.

Route description

The starting point of this hike is the “Pamer Kreuz” bus stop above the Hochmuth cable car valley station. There, turn right and follow the Apple Path until the first crossroads. Here turn left onto the Kuens walkway and follow it until the first turn-off to Kuens/Caines. At the fork keep left and continue along the path for another approx. 15 minutes until you reach your destination, the Schwåmmplouder.

The return journey follows the old village irrigation channel. At the Schwåmmplouder continue along the path. After a short ascent, turn left at the first turn-off. From there the path leads to the bus stop near Hotel Lechner.

Here take the bus back into the centre of the village or follow the road to the Hochmuth cable car valley station. It is a good 20 minutes on foot into the centre of the village.

Along the Bolzano/Bozen-Meran/Merano expressway to the exit Meran South-Sinich/Sinigo - Dorf Tirol/Tirolo - along the main street to the tourist information association (main street 31).

Parking

Chargeable parking just down from the tourist information association near the turn-off onto Aichweg.

Public transport

Take bus 221 from Merano to Dorf Tirol bus station in the centre of the village.

With the tourist bus 222 from Dorf Tirol bus station as far as the Pamer Kreuz bus stop.
