The
Meranarena Ice Rink near the Merano/Meran town center features both indoor and outdoor ice skating.
The ice rink is open from the beginning of August until early April. Ice hockey, curling and figure skating competitions also take place during winter. Ice skaters dominate the rinks from November until March and inline skaters take over from March onwards.

At the time of the
Merano Christmas Market (
Meraner Weihnacht in German) between late November and early January, a temporary ice skating rink is set up in the square, right in the center of town.
