Information for tourist busdrivers
WE ARE IMPROVING SERVICE & QUALITY – NEWS FROM SUMMER 2026
Dear Coach Operators,
To offer your guests even greater comfort and an enhanced Merano experience, we are upgrading our infrastructure here at Thermenplatz (Piavestr. 1) for arrivals and departures.
Construction work will begin in February and is scheduled to be completed by Easter 2026. From Summer 2026, there will be time-limited pick-up and drop-off options for your guests – efficient, safe, and well organised.
On Monday, 2 February, work began on the adaptation of the Therme bus terminal in Piavestraße in Merano. The measure forms part of the municipal administration’s strategy to reorganise local and long-distance public transport and to reduce traffic levels in the town centre.
The works are scheduled for completion by the end of March this year. During this period, the following traffic restrictions will apply: no through traffic and no parking throughout the entire area.
At the same time as the construction site is opened, the FlixBus stop will be relocated to Untermais railway station, which has been identified as a suitable location for passenger pick-up and drop-off, at least until the new mobility centre comes into operation.
For touring coaches, a temporary stop will be set up during the construction period from February to March on Europa-Allee, on the side of the FOS school (former Hotel Emma). Coaches may stop there briefly (maximum 15 minutes) to allow passengers to board and alight.
Parking for touring coaches is available in Gampenstraße, in the immediate vicinity of the racecourse. Please see the location plan:
