The history: The Ansitz Mairhof in Parcines is one of the oldest surviving historic residences in the village and an important witness to the local architectural and rural history. The stately building, with its crenellated gables, the corridor with ribbed net vaulting, and the coffered ceiling in the Stube, is first mentioned in documents in 1357. In this early record, a certain Chuonrad appears as the owner, although no further historical details about him are known. From its earliest days, the estate played a central role in the agricultural life of the village.
The present appearance of the building dates back to a fire around 1500. A late Gothic frescoed façade was added to the older structure, giving the residence its characteristic look that has been preserved to this day. Over the centuries, the building was repeatedly adapted to changing needs, while its original structure remained intact.
Alongside farming and livestock, wine production has always been part of life at the Mairhof. Wine was already being produced and stored here in earlier times, a tradition that has been passed down through generations and still forms an essential part of the estate’s identity today.
