40 YEARS OF THE MERANO HIGH MOUNTAIN TRAIL

This impressive hike along the historic Merano High Mountain Trail is a journey through time on one of the oldest high-altitude trails in the Alps. Upon arrival at the Texelbahn cable car mountain station, breathtaking panoramic views of the entire Merano basin unfold. The historic trail, once an important connection between mountain farms, leads past original alpine farms and lush mountain meadows.
Particularly captivating are the expansive views of the Ziel Valley and the surrounding peaks of the Texel Group Nature Park. A hike full of history, amusing anecdotes, and fascinating background information, accompanied by hiking and cultural guide Claudia Gilli.

Ascent: approx. 100 meters
Descent: approx. 600 meters
Starting altitude: 1,540 m above sea level

Return: approx. 4:00/4:30 pm
Approach
From Partschins, reachable on foot in about 15 minutes.
Alternatively, by bus to the "Texelbahn" stop.

Ankle-high hiking boots with good tread, weatherproof and temperature-appropriate hiking clothing, sun protection, optional trekking poles, sufficient water, and money for the cable car and lunch.

Hiking and cultural guiding free of charge; the cable car ticket (one way) and lunch at Nasereit mountain hut are at your own expense.
