General description
The Partschins Waterfall is considered the landmark of the village and a must-see for visitors. Its powerful cascade creates a fine spray that provides a refreshing atmosphere and is known to have a beneficial effect on the respiratory system. The hike combines well-maintained paths with shaded forest sections and leads to one of the most impressive natural spectacles in the area.

Texelbahn valley station – Winkler – Birkenwald – Partschins Waterfall – Birkenwald – Texelbahn
The starting point and destination of the hike is the valley station of the Texelbahn cable car. From here, the route follows trail 1 towards the Winkler refreshment stop and continues to Salten. After crossing the paved waterfall road, the path continues along trail 1 to the Birkenwald inn at around 950 m.
After crossing the road once again, trail 23 begins, climbing uphill through a shaded deciduous forest. At the end of the ascent, hikers reach the impressive Partschins Waterfall, with a drop of 97 metres, one of South Tyrol’s most striking natural landmarks. Near the Waterfall Inn, a footbridge leads to a panoramic viewing platform.
The return follows the same route back to the Texelbahn valley station. Alternatively, bus 265 can be used for the return journey, saving approximately 40 minutes.
